Young Houstonians Award: Shauna Johnson

Each year since 1932, the
Houston Jaycees and Houston Junior Chamber Foundation present five awards to outstanding
Houstonians between the ages of 21 and 41.
The awards are based primarily on extraordinary achievements and contributions in
many areas, which include community service, business, the arts, politics and athletics.
Houstonians who have received
this recognition in the past include President George H.W. Bush, Howard Hughes,
Dr. Denton Cooley, Lt. Governor William P. Hobby, Jr., Jim Dannenbaum, Jim Elkins,
Jack Blanton, Mayors Lewis Cutrer and C.A. “Neal” Pickett, Senator Jack Ogg, Astronauts
Gus Grissom and Ed White, Judges Paul Pressler and Greg Abbott, Houston Oilers Ray
Childress and Curtis Duncan, Houston Astros Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio, Pastor
Joel Osteen and TV Personalities Debra Duncan and Yolanda Green.
